Embracing Iconic Style: Miranda Priestly from 'The Devil Wears Prada' and My Latest Earrings

Movies and TV shows, along with their unforgettable characters, often have a significant and lasting influence on fashion—sometimes more than we realize.

Famous lines become everyday quotes, and trends from iconic films shape the fashion of each decade. Recently, while scrolling through YouTube Shorts, I stumbled upon a clip from *The Devil Wears Prada*, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. It was the glamorous gala scene, and Miranda Priestly was wearing a stunning pair of white gold or platinum earrings with a yellow gemstone. Instantly, I knew I could create my own version of these earrings using my wire-wrapping tools and materials.

I chose 16-gauge sterling silver wire to mimic the white gold or platinum of the originals, and I used a yellow quartz briolette to stand in for the yellow diamond or topaz. The finished earrings are not just inspired by the originals—they have a unique, handmade, artisanal quality that mass-produced jewelry simply can't offer.
